Wild Horses – Prefab Sprout – 1991 – Dr. Q. – Songs I Like – Volume 1 Selections

Prefab Sprout – Wild Horses

Okay, cousin Chuck Rogers in Houston has re-visited the Wild Horses songs.

However… this is NOT the same song, but it makes the list as one of my faves…

This song is from the 1991 album Jordan: The Comeback

This is an epic, 19 song theme-based album that flows in order from track to track.
.

It makes my Top 5 favorite albums of all-time !

Jesse James, Elvis, Paris, and Spiritual Hushed-Holy-Be’s.

.

This is an ORIGINAL PRODUCTION, NOT THE ROLLING STONES song, music, or lyrics.

Sister MMQ will probably email me that this is not The Stones version.

I don’t think she has time to read the posts, she just goes straight
to the song, and then says, “Hey, that’s not the same song…”

Well, they do say the shortest distance between two points is a straight line…

.

Hope you like the song as much as I do.
It sounds real good with an iced bottle of champagne and someone you love

Dr. Q.
.
PS… Chuck, even this album has a throw-away song, the last one at track 19.
I like the song, but it just doesn’t fit in as a book-end to this incredible album.

PSS… I gave this album a one-time, sporadic, fast-forward listen in 1991, and it was
so different than their previous album that I liked so much.

I remember telling Denise… “This is crap… doesn’t sound anything like their last album…

I didn’t play it again for 2 years, in 1993.

Then we started listening to the whole cassette on our daily 1 hour round-trips
driving Kristen to a private high-school each day in San Marcos.

We wore that thing out, but even Kristen liked it a lot.

It really is an epic creation, not just a mish-mash of songs.

PSSS… I gave the CD to brother Gary Q. years ago. He said the only song
worth a crap was track #3, Machine Gun Ibiza

Gary is a hard nut to crack… like I said, when it comes to music… pick ’n choose…

Wild Horses was track #2 from the album.
Give it a listen, and enjoy…

BELOW is another great track from the album, Jordan: The Comeback… … #18 Scarlet Nights
Every song is so good, especially as a whole narrative.
Takes repeat listening before the entire album hooks you forever !

In my personal opinion, that is…
But you will see so many others feel the same experience, if you read reviews of this album.

Wild Horses Teena Marie – 1994 – Dr. Q. – Songs I Like – Volume 1 Selections

Wild Horses Teena Marie

I have to throw in another version of “Wild Horses”,
that will rock your socks… so romantic…

This is an Original music track by Teena Marie, however, and is not to be confused
with the great Rolling Stones version by the same name…

This song exudes Intense, Emotional Passion.

Lady Tee was an extraordinary writer, composer, and performer.

This artist is one of my all time favorites.

She just recently passed away 2 months ago,
the day after Christmas, on Dec. 26, 2010.

She was only 54 years of age… I will miss her… and her incredible music.

Take a listen… Dr. Q.

Wild Horses – a 3rd version – Dr. Q. – Songs I Like – Volume 1 Selections

This version is by The Sundays, recorded in 1992
It later gained widespread popularity after being used in a Budweiser
SuperBowl commercial many years ago.

It was the one where the Clydesdale horses were kicking
a field goal out in some fenced in ranch pasture !

Singer Harriet Wheeeler has an Angel Voice.
The Sundays recorded many great songs.
I will post some more of their music in the future.

The song was released on New Years day in 1981, and this “cutting-edge” video  :-)
was produced the following year in 1982 !

Mick Fleetwood is on drums.

Great song and guitar work.  Great video too… ha, ha, ha…

Hallelujah – Jeff Buckley – Dr. Q. – Songs I Like – Volume 1 Selections

.

.
This Heavenly-Inspired work of musical art was originally released on August 23, 1994,
seven years before 9/11…

However, it suits the mood of this video very well…

Jeff Buckley died on May 29, 1997, at the age of thirty.

He accidentally drowned just outside of Memphis, Tennessee.

While awaiting the arrival of his band from New York,
he drowned during a spontaneous evening swim —
fully clothed — in the Wolf River,
when he was caught in the wake of a passing boat.

His body was found six days later on June 4, 1997.

Autopsy found no evidence of drugs or alcohol in his system…

Rest in Peace, Jeff Buckley, you created a Masterpiece that will be listened to forever…
